Welcome to Thomas Jefferson Middle School! We are looking forward to a productive and successful 2016/2017 school year and we are glad that we have a great start to the year.
Expectations are high for students at Thomas Jefferson. Students are expected to do well in their classes. This means that they do all the work necessary to be successful. This includes homework, class work and any special assignments given by the teachers.
Students are expected to have organizational skills that enhance the work they are doing in the classroom. Every student will receive an Agenda that they can use to keep track of homework and special assignments. They will also receive a school binder to help them keep organized with assignments for each of their classes. These are learning tools for students and they are expected to use them.
Students are expected to behave well at school and in the classroom. All school rules are strictly enforced. We work at being proactive rather than reactive to student behavior. Our focus is on developing an atmosphere that is conducive to learning.
Students are expected to become successful in school, in the community and in life. The Jefferson staff will work hard at providing many learning opportunities for students. Students need to be committed to working hard and giving their best effort. We are committed to providing our students the best possible education in a caring and nurturing environment so that they can become successful members of society.
There are many opportunities for students to get involved in the school. Getting involved will help in the transition from Middle School to High School. There are also many opportunities for parents to get involved in the school. As the school year progresses, check with us to see how you can get involved in the school.
We look forward to the upcoming school year. Please feel free to contact the school at any time if you have any questions.
