About the School
Jack G. Desmond Middle School is one of MUSD's newest schools. Along with Nishimoto Elementary, located on the same site, Desmond opened in September 2005. It is named for a longtime district benefactor who spent more than 17 years on the school board. Mr. Desmond was an area farmer from 1939-69 and also worked as a cattle rancher. Jack G. Desmond Middle School is one of the several MUSD schools that was built thanks to a school bond passed by Madera residents during the November 2002 general election.
