Madera Sugar Pine Mill and Lumber Yard

  King Middle School sits on what used to be Madera Sugar Pine and Lumber Yard.  It ran from 1876 till 1933.  Our city gets its name Madera from the Spanish word for lumber.  Madera owes its early growth and prosperity to the Sugar Pine and Lumber Yard.
