• MUSD Superintendent Search
     
    The Madera Unified Board of Education has concluded its search for the district's next superintendent. On Thursday, April 28, the board appointed Gustavo Balderas, who will assume the superintendent duties on July 1, 2011.
     
    The appointment of Balderas culminates a search process that began in October 2010. Here is a look at the various components of the search that led to Balderas' appointment:

    Surveys
    Thank you to all community members and staff who participated in the online survey to obtain feedback on the Board of Education's search for a new district superintendent. We received nearly 200 responses. This was great input.
     

    Community Feedback
    The MUSD Board of Education held two one-hour community forums that allowed the community the opportunity to give additional input on what the board should look for in the next superintendent. The meetings were held Monday, January 31, and Tuesday, February 1.
     

    Board Meetings
    The Board of Education will discuss the progress of the search at regular board meetings. To view the board meeting schedule, please click here.
     

    Special Meetings
    The Board of Education may call special meetings as needed to conduct business as it relates to the superintendent search process. To keep tabs on when special meetings have been called, check back to the MUSD website, or call the District Office at (559) 675-4500.
