    2. CREDITS

    To be considered on track for graduation, student must meet the minimum credits for each grade level:

    Each semester course seven and one half (7.5) credits can be earned.  A maximum of five (5) per semester will be credited to core or non-elective courses with all credits beyond five (5) being applied to the elective requirement.  Students are required to complete the entire course of study or semester of each class enrolled. Students can earn, by passing all assigned courses a total of sixty (45) credits each year. “F” and "D" grades earn no credit.

     

    3. GPA (Grade Point Average)

    Student must maintain a minimum overall graduation grade point average of 2.0.

    Calculate the grade point average (GPA) by adding grade points and then dividing the total points by the number of grades:
    A = 4 points

    B = 3 points

    C = 2 points

    D = 1 point

    4. CAHSEE (California High School Exit Exam)

    Students must pass the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) in the following two areas with a minimum score of 350 points per test:

                   1. English

                   2. Math

     

    5. OCCUPATIONAL ED (OE II)

    Students must demonstrate pre-employment skills by passing the following graduation task with a score of 4 or higher on a Portfolio and Mock Interview.

     

    COMMUNITY COLLEGES
    Eligibility for community colleges requires graduation from high school or equivalent, or a student must be at least 18 years of age.
    REQUIREMENTS FOR CALIFORNIA FOUR YEAR UNIVERSITIES
    The A-G Requirements
    Students who desire to attend a California university must complete the following minimum requirements with a grade of "C" or better:
    • English - 4 years
    • Math - 3 years (Alg. I, Geom, Alg. II)
    • Foreign Language - 2 years
    • US History - 1 year
    • World History - 1 year
    • Civics/Economics - 1 year
    • College Prep Electives - 1 year
    • Lab Sciences - 2 years
    • Visual/Performing Art - 1 year (See Counselor for qualifying courses.)

    SAT II (University of California)

    ** Eligibility Index - Students must also meet the eligibility index set by each of these universities. This index is computed using a combination of the grade point average (GPA) and the college entrance examination scores.

    PRIVATE FOUR-YEAR COLLEGES/UNIVERSITIES
    Most private colleges and universities require an academic pattern of courses similar to that required for the California universities.
