    STATE WRESTLING CHAMPS

The TOC (Tournament of Champions) State Wrestling Championships for Middle school had several Desmond wrestlers qualify to participate. That, in and of itself, is an accomplishment worth noting. However, 4 of our wrestlers placed in the Top 8 in the state!! They were:
    Cy Philp - 8th Place
    Tayte Grantham - 8th place
    Abel Cardenas - 8th place

AND for the first time in Desmond School History.....we have a CHAMPION at 205lbs in the state of California!!
Marcos Torrez - 1st place Champion

These boys fought hard and beat some quality competition this weekend. To become Champion, Marcos beat a wrestler from Clark Intermediate!! Which feeds into Clovis High (#5 ranked wrestling team in the nation). Pretty Amazing stuff from our Longhorn Athletes!! Great Job!!
