  • Here at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School, we understand that it is a critical period in a student's life, marked by significant changes and growth. It is during this time that students transition from the familiar environment of elementary school and prepare for the challenging and demanding world of high school. Academically, middle school introduces students to a wider range of subjects and deeper levels of learning. Students are exposed to more complex concepts in math, science, language arts, and social studies. This increased rigor challenges their thinking abilities and fosters intellectual growth. We encourage our jaguars to explore their interests through elective courses such as art, music, or technology. These classes allow them to discover their passions and develop skills that may shape their future career paths.

We acknowledge our guarantee to all stakeholders - trustees, taxpayers, community partners, students, parents, staff, and leadership - that our identity and philosophy are built upon our best traditions and aligns modern student needs with the highest level of research and professional learning. The MUSD Governing Board believes in fair and equitable opportunities to empower students to learn deeply and live long healthy lives with the widest array of career opportunities.

OUR VISION - Madera Unified will set the standard for hard work, creativity and resiliency with a fearless drive to continuously improve.

To achieve this, MUSD focuses on hiring qualified teachers, providing adequate resources and technology, and implementing effective teaching strategies.

Graduate Profile

A framework that outlines six skill areas that are important for everyone to master for success in school, career, and life. For our schools, the Graduate Profile provides a focus for teaching and learning. For students, it serves as a challenging set of elements to demonstrate by the time they graduate.
