The Madera Coalition for Community Justice and the Madera Youth Leaders organized a Mural Project honoring the Black Americans who have contributed to the United States, especially during the Civil Rights Movement. Present, on February 10, were students from 8-18 years old representing all Madera Unified schools, including MVHS. The students collaborate using 4x6 panels and various mediums of art to create artwork representing Black History Month. During a pizza break, students held a meeting where they spoke of the History of Black people in Madera and the progress made. The discussion was led by students themselves.
