• The Madera Unified School District Department of Arts Education is pleased to serve the city of Madera. We are located 30 minutes north of Fresno in California's beautiful Central Valley. Our school district has 14 elementary schools, 4 K-8 schools, 3 middle schools, and 3 high schools. The Department of Arts Education provides music, art, drama, and dance to the diverse learners of Madera. Ongoing teacher support includes content-specific teacher coaches, new teacher mentors, weekly and daily teacher collaboration time (PLCs), abundant professional development opportunities, and more!

    DANCE TEACHERS

    Dance Teacher (7-12)

      • Contemporary and Folklorico Dance Courses at one of three High Schools and its respective feeder Middle School
      • Build a program over 6 years
      • Credential: Dance, PE (prior to 2021), or Dance Authorization added to Clear Credential.

    MUSIC TEACHERS

    • Elementary Music Teacher (Itinerant)
      • Teach General Music with the possibility of Band, Choir, & Orchestra at one or two schools.
      • Sample weekly schedule: 50 minutes of PLC, 200 minutes of prep, 25 to 28 50-minute instructional blocks
      • Multiple positions available
      • Credential: Music

    THEATRE ARTS TEACHERS

    Elementary Drama Teacher (Itinerant)

      • Teach a weekly 50-minute Drama class to TK-6 at one or two schools
      • Sample weekly schedule: 50 minutes of PLC, 200 minutes of prep, 25 to 28 50-minute instructional blocks
      • Multiple positions available
      • Credential: Theatre Arts, ELA (prior to 2021), or Authorization added to Clear Credential.

    VISUAL ART TEACHERS

    Elementary Art Teacher (Itinerant)

    • Teach a weekly 50-minute Drama class to TK-6 at one or two schools
    • Sample weekly schedule: 50 minutes of PLC, 200 minutes of prep, 25 to 28 50-minute instructional blocks
    • Multiple positions available
    • Credential: Visual Art or Authorization added to Clear Credential
