Nursing Services Department
Nursing Services is part of Madera Unified School District's Health and Wellness Department. Nursing Services promotes the optimal health and learning of students through a comprehensive school health program. Health staff consists of Credentialed School Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses and Health Services Assistants.
Credentialed School Nurses provide a variety of health-related services to our students including:

Direct student care

Communicable disease prevention

Conducting mandated hearing, vision and color vision screenings

Conducting health assessments related to special education eligibility

Serving on the Individualized Education Program team, Section 504 team and Student Study Team.

Assisting with referral pathways for appropriate community resources
Madera Unified School District partnered with Camarena Health Centers to open two School Based Health Centers located at Madera South High School and Matilda Torres High School. Both School Based Health Centers provide health services to students, staff and the community.
