Continuing to make connections with students!

  • The Mighty Monroe Staff and students have entered their 6th week of school, and are continuing to make those personal connections with students!  Our staff is numero uno at showing empathy, caring for students’ academic, social, and emotional needs, using their background knowledge and experiences to make lessons relevant, and continuing to connect with students on a more personal level.

    Teachers and staff are utilizing ideas and tips from the professional development that was delivered before school, on the first institute day.  These tips can make students feel welcomed, respected, and important.  

    One idea is greeting students at the door.  Let’s take it a step further, this teacher is offering her students a choice of how they would like to be greeted as they come in!  Connection, choice, mutual respect, and making students feel comfortable!
