The Madera South proudly empahsizes the importance of concert band as the heart of a well-rounded instrumental music program.  Our program offers two concert ensembles.  Our Wind Ensemble serves under the direction of Mr. Jay Rosette.  Our Symphonic Band serves under the direction of Mr. Tim Walsh.  During the 2017-2018 school year, the Wind Ensemble earned two consecutive festival ratings of Unanimous Superior, and the Symphonic Band also earned themselves a Unanimous Superior in their first year of adjudicated performance.  In October of 2018, our MSHS Wind Ensemble was invited to perform a joint-concert with the Fresno State Wind Orchestra, the university's premiere performance ensemble.  Our Wind Ensemble performed a briliant 20-minute set, and earned themselves a standing ovation by the audience in attendance.
