The Madera South HS Stallion Band and Guard celebrated another successful competitive weekend. The Stallion Band and Color Guard placed 1st in Class 2A, as well as earning caption awards for High Visual, High General Effect, and High Auxiliary (Color Guard). The band earned a significant score increase of 8.1 to bring their overall score to 67.20. They have completed the entire show, and continue to add body/visuals to further enhance the production. Congratulations to the staff and students, we are looking forward the rest of the season!
Our MSHS Jazz Band performed for the Gould Educational Center in Madera on Thursday, October 18th. Our students really enjoyed the performance and the Gould students responded really well. It was exciting to see all of the Gould students come alive with so much enthusiasm for our jazz band! We look forward to returning again next year!
10/13/18- Marching Band Field Show #1- Washington Union

The MSHS Stallion Band and Color Guard opened up the 208 Field Show season with a strong performance on 10/13/18. The band and guard presented over 5:30 of show on the move, and placed 2nd in Class 2A competition. The band opened their season with a score of 59.10, and is aiming to increase that score by taking a cleaner, completed show to their next event at Clovis HS on 10/27/18. We are looking forward to the rest of the competitive season, and hope to see you at a show!
On October 4th, 2018, MSHS Wind Ensemble was invited by Dr. Gary Gilroy, Director of Bands at CSU Fresno to perform a joint concert with the Fresno State Wind Orchestra, the university’s top performance ensemble. Our MSHS Wind Ensemble performed a brilliant 20-minute set, and earned a standing ovation from the concert hall audience, which was filled to capacity.
