President Salazar was appointed a Trustee in January 2019 to represent Area 5 of Madera Unified. This was her first term as a Board member.
President Salazar is a businesswoman, Realtor, and member of the Madera Association of Realtors. She has raised her four children, who are all MUSD graduates. She now has three grandchildren attending MUSD. Her oldest grandson is one of the first students to attend Matilda Torres High. Two of her grandsons are MUSD elementary students. One attends Madison and is part of the school's Dual Language classes, and her other grandson is enrolled at Berenda Elementary School. She attends various Advisory Committees, County Committees meetings, site, and MUSD events to make herself aware of the stakeholders needs.
President Salazar is President of Latinas Unidas of Madera, a nonprofit group giving back to the Community of Madera through scholarships and maintaining the Latino Culture and community events.
President Salazar's mission is to continue being the voice of the community for our schools and to continue being a work in progress to improve and succeed in the future of all our students.
For the 2023 calendar year, Trustee Salazar will serve as Board liaison to the following schools:
