  • Board advisory committees are groups established to provide guidance and recommendations to the Board of Trustees on specific issues or areas of concern. These committees are typically composed of board members, district staff, parents, students, and community members who bring diverse perspectives and expertise.

    The purpose of these committees is to focus on particular topics such as curriculum, facilities, finance, or community engagement, allowing for more in-depth discussion and analysis. They gather information, review policies, and propose actions or strategies that align with the district's goals and needs. Their recommendations are then presented to the full Board of Trustees, which considers these insights when making decisions.

    Overall, these committees play a vital role in ensuring that the board’s decisions are well-informed and reflective of the community’s interests.

    It is the intent of the Board of Trustees to promote community and staff expertise as advisory support to the Board’s decision-making process. Consequently, Advisory Committees shall be formed to serve the Board's needs in keeping with the District Mission. The ongoing need for each Advisory Committee shall be assessed and the official Board representatives appointed at the Board’s Annual Organizational meeting held in December (Board Bylaw 9130).
